Loving Islands fundraiser campaign is providing Internet access to Levukaidaku village on Matuku Island, Fiji!
Noosa, Queensland: Today, Loving Islands is announcing its ‘Matuku Island EcoVillage Fundraiser’ a Pozible campaign setup to help the small Island Village of Levukaidaku, on Matuku Island in Fiji gain access to the world wide web for the first time in history!
Loving Islands’ founder Litia Kirwin has been a member of the Matuku island community for over 25 years, and is now working with the community to improve their access to economic and environmental education and communication system by helping them access the internet from their remote village. The Loving Islands fundraiser will commence on World Environment Day this Sunday 5th of June and run for several weeks online through Pozible.com.
Of the company’s many goals, Litia Kirwin says “maintaining the environmental and cultural beauty of our Islands is the highest priority in what Loving Islands does and how we determine who we work with. Organic agriculture is a highly viable means for sustainable economic development in remote island communities, given the rich tradition of organic agriculture that already exists. The key to translating this into economic resilience lies in bridging the skills and knowledge gaps to enable access to sales markets both domestically and internationally. The installation of internet plays a key role in bridging these gaps, and will provide the community of Levukaidaku village with unprecedented access to environmental and economic education as well as a direct communication line to the outside world”.
To raise awareness for this cause, Loving Islands kindly requests your support in donating and sharing our story. We will be thanking all those that support financially to our cause through our social media channels, and have also put together a number of reward incentives available on our Pozible campaign, including delicious and nutritious Recipe E-Books, Organic Products from our Island communities and much more!
