10 Inspiring health food bloggers to get you motivated to treat yourself nice & start eating right!
This post is a result of a (slightly excessive) healthy foodie hunt we’ve been conducting via our Instagram account lately (spurred by the newly regained uninterrupted access to telecommunications after a month away on the islands of Fiji)! It is also dedicated to the good food / organic food movement that’s been on the rise since 2010 in Australia ~ largely due to the increased consumer understanding of the broader health, environmental and ethical impacts of various food production systems. Just a quick look at the amount of health-oriented / wholefood cooks and their communities on social media gives a clear indication of a burgeoning trend (and one we’re extremely pleased about)! In light of this we’ve picked 10 of our favourites that help keep us inspired and motivated by wholesome foods ♡. So, in no particular order, here they are!
1. Minimalist BakerThe perfect source for cooking newbies and experts alike. Minimalist Baker is run by Dana (the baker and recipe maker) and her husband John (technical and branding wizard). Specialising in 1-bowl / 1-pot recipes in under 30minutes makes this site a winner for time-poor foodies. The recipes are also largely vegan or plant-based, making it a hit amongst all those with specialty-dieteray requirements! |
2. Bondi HarvestFun, fresh & authentic modern Australian seasonal cooking infused with the outdoor lifestyle Australia is famous for. Outside of the website this 2-man team (Guy & Mark) also run an awesome YouTube channel filled with tasty recipe walk-throughs and behind-the-scenes adventures out on the road. Yew!

3. Nourish AtelierOne of our newly found foodies and super inspiring! Nina is a working mumma with a passion for healthy mindful eating which she shares through deliciously styled vegan and vegetarian recipes (the feature image on this post being another example)!
|
4. Hippie LaneTaline is now somewhat of a rockstar in the wholefood baking scene with her delicious clean treats or #treatswithedge available by popular demand via a downloadable app on iTunes. If you thought healthy eating was all salads and watermelon then think again as this mamma is bringing it to a whole new level ♡ |
5. Bettina’s KitchenA wonderland for plant-based eaters and also a new find in our recent foodie hunt. Head to Bettina’s Kitchen if your in need of some colourful, flavourful (not to mention seriously good looking) food recipes and colourful socks. Bettina also encourages the purchase of local and organic produce, which is always a bonus! |
6. Paris by VeganParis by Vegan is a run by Noemie, a French, Paris-based vegan extraordinaire. Outside of an extremely popular Instagram feed, Noemie has released a popular 60+ vegan recipe e-book and city-guide (Paris of course) in December last year, which can be yours to keep for only 10Euros. |
7. Tasty As HeckAn Instagram-only foodie, Heike, is in two words ~ simply amazing. With no real ‘recipes’ as such, Heike seems to be the perfect place for all those that cook by ‘feeling’ rather than following a recipe (if you do require a recipe then this might not be your best option)! Either way the @tastyasheck Instagram feed is a visual heaven for any plant-based foodie. |
8. The Hungry WarriorShabnam is the German/Persian warrior princess behind the healthy eats & treats of The Hungry Warrior. Diagnosed with ulcerative colitis, an autoimmune disease, Shabnam’s passion for food is driven by her dietary needs but also a motivation to highlight the inspiring and fun side of healthy eating, regardless of health conditions! |
9. Elsa’s Wholesome LifeNot sure a health food blogger list would be complete without the inclusion of Elsa’s Wholesome Life! Ellie is a dietician-in-training from the sunny North-East coast of NSW. Outside of epic health recipes and amazing give-away comps, Ellie is also a regular social contributor in the industry. Definitely worth a look at if you’re feeling a need for some down-to-earth wholesome goodness. |
10. One Hungry MamiLast but not least, a shout-out to one of our first foodie finds on Instagram ~ Brenda from One Hungry Mami! Brenda has a great unpretentious approach to wholefood eating with some mouth-watering plant-based recipes popping up on her IG feed and website.
